Hello All.
What a Covid Rollercoaster! The event is back on and the
MyABF Website updated. Here are some things you need to know:
- Dates
– we’re running Thursday 26 Aug to Sunday 29 Aug. Without the Monday being
a public holiday we needed to shorten the teams event by one session. As a
result we have reduced the fee and will refund existing entrants.
- Play
will conclude on the Sunday by 6.15pm so booking 8pm flights will work
just fine. Qantas still has plenty of seats at $99 on their Red e-Deal fare
and there is a $113 Jetstar flight at 8.15pm. I am sure Virgin have
something similar.
- Early
Bird – you have a new early bird date (1 August) so those who booked and
wish to continue, we will move your entry over. And even if you didn’t
make the first early bird, you will now receive the discount.
- Accommodation
– if you booked Quest for the QB weekend you
must log back in and cancel
your booking. Then create a new booking. The June bookings cannot
automatically move over. Please call me if you are concerned.
- Reconfirmation
– I would like you to formally confirm you wish to re-enter for the new
event. You don’t have to but it will help. All you need to do is add a
simple comment to your entry: “Yes, we are re-entering” .
- Withdrawal
– if you cannot play on the new dates, please withdraw your entry. This
will trigger the refund process. The next step may be to recover credits
from your fellow team mates and then either leave the credits there for
later or request a refund. If you do need the actual refund, Contact
Support as instructed before and put Refund Request in the Subject line.
This has been a journey for everyone. Please be patient with refunds as there is a significant amount of processing to go on behind the scenes. You have my email address and phone number if you are concerned. But we have to see most of you at the new dates.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Welcome to the Victor Champion Cup Bridge Festival. An event run by the The Victorian Bridge Association under license from the ABF. The event, normally scheduled over the Queen's Birthday long weekend, is now running in 2021 from Thursday 26th August through to Sunday 29th August. All entries must be made on line and all players need to be registered with MyABF.

Entry Fee: Open Pairs - $290, Restricted Pairs - $270, Teams - $660
Early Bird: Pay online before 1st August and receive a discount of $30 per pair or $60 per team
Entries: must be made online through this portal

Location - Marvel Stadium Stark Room
Transport
Southern Cross Station is a very short walk and trams stop right outside the stadium. If you are travelling by car, take the Bourke St car park entrance and follow down the ramp on the left. Use the right-hand side of these down ramps. Once inside, turn 90 degrees right and park over the far side wall, underneath Gate 4. There is a lift going right to the Stark Room. All day parking is capped at $15 for Thursday/Friday and only $10 for the other three days. Pay by credit card at the entrance.
Catering
The all-important coffee carts will be onsite and numbers permitting, we will be arranging for grab-and-go breakfasts and light lunches. There is, however, a very large range of external food venues just a short walk from the stadium.
