ABF Resources

  • All players in your entry need to have their own personal MyABF account if they are to be specifically named when you lodge your entry. If you are lodging an entry but are waiting for your partner or teammate to set up their own MyABF account, you can lodge the entry with the player shown as "TBA" (to be advised).  If so, please also add their name in the comments area - which is then visible to the Tournament Organisers and the director.  The "TBA" can be updated when the player has set up their MyABF account.
  • Help on any MyABF issues is also available from the Tournament Organiser Paul Brake on 0490 117 482 or paul.brake95@gmai.com

GENERAL INFORMATION

ELIGIBILITY

This is an inter-club competition.  Each player in the Gold Coast Bridge Club contingent must be a current member of the club.

GRADED EVENT

This is a graded event, with separate fields of players (so players only play against players in their grade).

There are three grades, each with 2 teams from each club (so each grade will have 6 teams). The three grades are (1) Open (any Masterpoints), (2) Intermediate  (in two parts, 4 of the 8 players from each club are to be under 700 Masterpoints, 4 of the players are to be under 500 Masterpoints), and (3) Restricted (under 200 Masterpoints).

HOW TO ENTER
The entry fee is $16 per player.

Enter and pay via MyABF.

For those unfamiliar with MyABF, see Videos and How To Guides in the "Links" section above.

If for any reason you cannot enter and pay via MyABF but wish to play in the event, contact the Tournament Organiser.

ENTRIES ARE ACCEPTED ON A PROVISIONAL BASIS

Although a teams event, entries are being taken on a pairs basis, and the club will later on combine two pairs into a team.  A pair can express a desire to be put together with any other specified pair.  Entries will appear in the list of entries immediately when lodged in MyABF but if the number of players from the Gold Cost Bridge Club exceeds the places available, a nomination process may be required, undertaken by the Chair of the GCBC Tournament Committee or his/her delegate.  This should be conducted well in advance before the event so all players can make plans for the day.

SYSTEMS

Red, Blue & Green systems and brown sticker conventions and treatments are allowed, except in the lowest grade, where only Blue & Green systems are allowed.  Players must ensure the correctness of their system classification.

MASTERPOINTS & PRIZEMONEY

Red Masterpoints at B5i level will be awarded.
Masterpoints for each match win or draw, plus the top third of each division.
Prizemoney of $200 to the winning team in each grade (ie $50 per player in a 4-person team)

MISCELLANEOUS

Results will appear on the website of the Tweed Bridge Club.

At the start of play each pair must have two systemically identical ABF System Cards available for their opponents.
