GENERAL INFORMATION
2024 MVBC Teams Championship winners : George Lovrecz, Kim Frazer, Kae French, Fraser Thorpe
The format of this years' event is expected to be a regular swiss movement with 9 rounds of 8 or 9 boards. The exact format will be determined based on the number of entries. The use of a swiss movement means that after the first round teams will play those who are performing similarly. This means less experienced players will tend to play other less experienced players.
Members and non-members may enter, only Moonee Valley members can win the title.
System Cards required
The MVBC Teams Championship will be the official selection qualifier for the 2026 ABF Club Teams Knockout
Criteria for selection of 2026 MVBC ABF Knockout teams :
- MVBC Teams championship event be used to determine who has priority to represent MVBC in ABF Knockout teams event.
- Best placed open, <750,<300,<100 and <50 MP team in the club event to be provided with option to play in ABF Knockout with entry paid by the club
- Team that plays in the Knockout should be at least ¾ of original team that played in the MVBC Teams Championship
- If highest rank team doesn’t wish to participate then another team has the option, with priority given to teams that participated and finished higher in the club teams.
- Any additional (ie 2nd or 3rd ) teams in a category that participate pay their own way.

Substitutes / Withdrawals - your responsibilities:
Entries are accepted on the understanding that players will continue in an event, except in unforeseen circumstances. If for any reason you are unable to attend the event and it is past the closing date, then it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to arrange a substitute and advise the Director. If this is not possible please advise the Director as soon as practicable as withdrawals after the closing date must be authorised by the Director. Director phone # and email are provided above.
If registrations for this event have closed and you want to play or be a standby player, please email the Congress Organiser to go on a waiting list. Other tables may be added if numbers are sufficient.
