Gold Points are awarded in the Swiss Butler Pairs and Swiss Teams events

Conditions:

To qualify for Barrier Reef Zone prizes, you need to be a resident or a member in the Barrier Reef Zone.

The ABF Tournament Regulations as modified by the ABF Supplementary Regulations will apply.

Eligibility for Restricted Events - Masterpoints as at 31st December 2025.

  • Novice Pairs Both players must have fewer than 100 masterpoints 
  • Restricted Pairs: Both players must have fewer than 300 masterpoints 
  • BRC 300: Average masterpoints per player must not exceed 300 and Team members who are life masters may not play together in a partnership

Transport

The Townsville Stadium has free onsite parking for 310 vehicles with 6 dedicated handicapped spaces.

A courtesy bus is available from Tuesday to Friday (Except for the walk-ins and the celebrity speakers) for visitors without their own transport, click ** Map of Bus Route **.

The Bus will start at the Watermark at 8:30 am On Tuesday; 1:00 pm on Wednesday; 8:30 am on Thursday and Friday

The Bus will return along the same route at the end of each day.

The Ville, Sir Leslie Thiess Dr

Hotel Grand Chancellor (at the back in Ogden St)

IMC steakhouse, Palmer St

Flag down the driver at any point heading out of town along Bowen Road

The local 208 bus leaves once an hour for the Murray Stadium from the city centre. See links.

You will have to make your own travel arrangements for the walk-ins on Monday afternoon and the celebrity speakers.  Ask in advance to see if a cab-share can be organised (see transport in contacts)

The Local Bus 208 (see links for the timetable) goes once an hour to the Murray stadium

Catering

Welcome drinks and nibbles will be served on Tuesday at 5:30 pm after the final Pairs Session.

Farewell luncheon will be provided on Friday at 1:00pm.

Water will be provided at stations in the playing area.

Stations with free coffee & tea will be set up in the foyer outside the playing area and available at any time.

Light refreshments will be served at morning & afternoon tea breaks

Lunch orders for sandwiches will be taken from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings and delivered prior to sessions end at 1:00pm. 

You are welcome to bring your own lunch as the closest shops are 10 minutes away by car.,


Additional Information

STADIUM RULES:  Hot and or sugary drinks may not be taken into the main playing area as spilled drinks may damage the surface of the basketball court.
